Foreign cultures have always intrigued me. My studies of Spanish, Italian, and German, along with a year abroad in Spain, deepened my appreciation of different approaches to life. After an MLS (University at Albany) and an MBA (UC Berkeley), I was drawn to international banking, capped by working in Milan.

My award-winning novel, Venetian Blood: Murder in a Sensuous City, marked the return to my humanities background. Kirkus described it as a "riveting whodunit."

I'll read from my nearly finished second book, Jaguar Moon, the story of a woman struggling to solve the mystery of her family's disappearance in a dangerous place as she grapples with her own inheritance.

A native New Yorker, I reside with my environmentalist husband in the San Francisco Bay Area. Find me online at http://christinevolkerauthor.com/ and Twitter: https://twitter.com/WingedAdventure
