Susana is an Oakland-based poet who turns the political/social/climate chaos that surrounds us, as well as the beauty that remains, into poetry. She has studied Creative Writing at: Naropa Institute, Berkeley City College, and UC Berkeley's Poetry for the People. She is also a graduate "bruja" (as in "Las Dos Brujas Writers' Residency".) Although passionate about poetry, Susana isn't ready to give up her day job at La Clínica de la Raza in Oakland where she works as a Physician Assistant and Associate Medical Director of the Women's clinic.
